the count from the A.M. fish checkers this morning was 28 boats checked 35 fish, the largest was 15 lbs. averaging between 7-10 lbs. we havent received the p.m. count yet. the hot item seems to be coho killers, and flies. Most angelers are fishing out towards the shipping lanes, and for bottom fish they are going west and starting at the caves fishing by the kelp beds.
HERE IS A BRIEF SUMMARY OF OUR FISHING REGULATIONS FOR AREA 5
JULY1- AUG 15 CHINOOK- min. size 22″. other species - no minimum size. DAILY LIMIT 2 (COMBINED). Release wild CHINOOK, wild COHO, and chum.
AUG 16- SEPT15 no minimum size. DAILY LIMIT 2 (COMBINED). Release CHINOOK, wild COHO, and chum.
SEPT16 - SEPT. 30 no minimum size. DAILY LIMIT2 (COMBINED). Release CHINOOK and CHUM.
NOV 1 - NOV 30 CHINOOK- minimum size 22″. other SALMON species- no minimum size. DAILY LIMIT 2 (COMBINED). Only 1 CHINOOK MAY BE RETAINED.
FEB.16- APR.10 CHINOOK- minimum size 22″. Other species- no minimum size. Daily limit 1.
